An inside street, extended courtyard, finds its location and orientation in the created plot, fragment of the city on old land, farmland, by the bed of the ravine. The different entries to the block allow crossing the interior free space in which all row houses are participating. A street, between the public and the private, in the absence of the future exterior noise, sheltered from the strong wind.
The dwelling becomes a succession of spaces, extended by rooms without one of their limits, to be prolonged, to be connected directly with another space, to extend the relationships from the interior of every house to the shared courtyard. The street does not end in the facades; the dwellings do not begin in a door. The routes, by its very raison d’être, never end. Houses, emptiness, spaces in between and courtyards succeed as instants of an ever-different sequence. The dwellings become rocks, carved stones, stricken by the penetrating wind. The project puts a strain on the predetermined programme, in search of other limits between the rules and the elements of the location: flexibility, continuities, alternative routes, interior landscapes.
